Editorial: A youth activist who finds interest in journalism and information sprouting, Jude Nebo from Udi LGA Enugu State Nigeria, has just put together some instances of incoherence in the journals of some Nigerian popular newspapers and media. The blames it on lack of investigative journalism. Mr Jude Nebo in his article accused the Nigerian Newspaper of lack of integrity and misinformation. Follow @judenebo for feedback
Read his article below:
“It’s clear that Nigeria lacks investigative journalism. The few media outlets that we have report poorly in dissemination of true stories. There is no accuracy and the articles are not informative or credible.
“It irritates me each time newspapers misinform the masses which causes more harm than good in our communities on a daily basis. These media companies are too busy trying to make stupendous wealth out of fake news without minding the consequences.
“They are constantly feeding us the wrong impressions as future leaders to hate one another, instead of encouraging diversity among us, with the help of facts as it happens. They use these mediums to mislead patriotic citizens of the country which will ignite another war with the kind of news headlines that lack in depth knowledge: one story with different figures which is not reliable but very destructive than voice.
“They have not carried out proper investigative measures to ascertain the authenticity of the information gathered before publications or identify the hoodlums and particular people who were gun down on that faithful day at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“In fact, Nigeria as a country has suffered political catastrophe and embodiment of corruption, but for the moment I will not speak on that issue until I shutdown most of the fake media companies in Nigeria before 2019, if they will still be General Election.

“If the Media in Nigeria cannot give you a first class information, how else do you get it? No wonder Nnamdi Kanu call them “BROWN ENVELOPE MEDIA”.
